• Mulch the plant heavily so that the rootball does not dry out that quickly.
• Water the plant thoroughly & continue to do so every other day for the next 2-3 weeks using medium water flow.  After this watering, water when the surrounding soil is dry.  ** Failure to water when the plant is dry could cause the plant to die or catch disease due to stress.

 Landscapes in June

• Planting annuals and perennials can be done easily and effectively at this time of the year.  Shrubs and trees are a bit more "iffy".  Although they can be plated now with great success, it is absolutely imperative that YOU WATER THEM DEEPLY AND REGULARLY throughout the summer.  These plants, while in the nursery, are watered regularly, usually daily.  They need to continue to be watered after planting because they are producing the roots they'll need as they establish.  The worst thing you can do is plant in June and then go away on vacation in July and August without arranging to have the newly planted trees/shrubs deeply watered at least weekly.

 Trees & Evergreens - 1.5" to 3" caliber

• Initial day of planting, water the ball of the tree for 5 minutes using medium water flow.
• For the first 2-3weeks, water the ball of the tree.  1 time weekly for 2-3 minutes using medium water flow.

 Junipers & Shrubs

• Initial day of planting, water the base of the plant for 3-5 minutes using medium water flow.
• For the first 2-3weeks, water the base of the plant.  1 time weekly for 2-3 minutes using medium water flow.
